Stroud Boys' Technical School Magazines 1951-55

"These magazines were a job lot on eBay. The newspaper cutting was inside one of them - probably the last one (1955). The season of 1955/56 would appear to be likely judging by names in the magazines and the similar, but younger, 1955 Cup Winners' picture. Presumably the magazines' original owner was a member of that 1955/56 Football 1st XI.

It is an interesting insight into another technical school contemporary with Burslem JTS and Stanfield County Technical School. It lost its technical school identity in 1965.

The 1955 magazine has an article about one of their boys going to the Boy Scouts' World Jamboree in Canada. It is a very similar report to that by J Gilbert in the Stanfield 1955 Review.

Stroud Boys' Technical School has a famous old boy - the poet/author Laurie Lee."
