On the left is the front of Ceramica after it opened in 2003 in the centre of Burslem, and which has been compared to the
front of Haywood High School, shown on the right.
Intended as part of the city's Millenium efforts, the Ceramica project ran over budget by 10% and work was suspended until the shortfall in funding was resolved. In June 2003, Ian Howe, the General Manager of Ceramica wrote to say that Ceramica was now complete and open to the public and included the photos below. See Ceramica in a new window.
